On February 10, 2026, under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education at the University of Zakho, Dr. Sattar J. Haji, and in the presence of a number of governmental institutions and civil society organizations, the Department of Geography organized a scientific activity in coordination with Bari Organization.

The activity consisted of a scientific panel discussion, during which various opinions and viewpoints were presented and discussed by the panel members. Additionally, several proposals were also put forward aimed at enhancing environmental protection in the Kurdistan Region.

The activity concluded by conducting a tree-planting campaign aimed to emphasize the importance of environmental conservation and to promote environmental awareness.
